Open Floor Conscious Dance 101/3-Part EMBODIED MIND Series

This 3-week series is designed as an introduction to the mindful movement, conscious dance practice of Open Floor International. We are constantly shaping our minds and being shaped by our minds. This series will focus on Embodied Mind and Belonging. When we are embodied in our mind, we are aware of how our relational patterns, behaviors, habits, and choices are impacted by our thoughts.

What to Expect: You’ll be introduced to the principles of Open Floor International through instruction and experiential practice. We will begin each session by arriving well, opening awareness, using meditation and movement exercises to explore a Core Movement Resource theme, settling, and closing with sharing. Music supports our practice. You will spend time sitting, standing, dancing, talking, breathing, lying, and modifying as needed. Open Floor practice is for everybody.

3-Part Series. Each class will be 60 minutes from 8:30-9:30am at the River Falls Inspiring Actions Studio. You are encouraged to attend the series in full for the best value yet single sessions are welcome! Come move your mind with Open Floor!

·      10/8/23: Week 1: THINKING MIND/VECTOR: Making sense, feelings vs. facts, clarity, and direction.

·      10/15/23: Week 2: PSYCHO-EMOTIONAL MIND/RELEASE: Seek stability, let go of old beliefs that no longer serve you, be fluid and flexible.

·      10/22/23: Week 3: CREATIVE MIND/EXPAND & CONTRACT: Play with imagination, expand into new possibilities.

Pre-Registration/Cost: $47 for the 3-part series ($66 value)! $22 single session rate for any 1 of the 3 classes in this series. This class is included with an Inspiring Actions Unlimited Membership (use code “memberfree”) IF registering for the 3-part series. Pre-registration is appreciated, spots are limited to 12 attendees. Registration is non-refundable yet is transferable (send a friend in your place if you can’t make it)!

Bring: Please wear comfortable clothing, bring a water bottle, and a yoga mat. Yoga mats, bolsters, and blankets are available in the studio.
