Bibliotherapy: The Artist’s Way: A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity by Julia Cameron

Julia Cameron’s book, The Artist’s Way is a classic. It is designed as a 12-week course and guide of explorations to connect with your creative self. Cameron states that creativity is life energy, infuses all of life, is a gift from and to God, and that we are creations.

“In order to retrieve your creativity, you need to find it” and the two practices she teaches are the Morning Pages and Artist Dates.

Morning Pages: Start each day for 30 minutes, hand writing 3 pages. You don’t have to be in the mood to write, to write. These pages let us play, making the logical brain step aside.

Artist Date: Weekly solo date. Take yourself somewhere novel, special, or different.

This guide has chapters on Recovering a Sense of Safety, Identity, Power, Integrity, Possibility, Abundance, Connection, Strength, Compassion, Self-Protection, Autonomy, and Faith.

“Art is an act of the soul…when we are dealing with people’s dreams…we are in the realm of the sacred.”

This is a journey of self-discovery, personal evolution, self-nurturing, and putting into action practices to move you on your way to reclaiming your creativity.

At Coriander Living Collective we believe that we are all creative beings, that we self-create our personalities, and that accessing creativity is a resource. If you are wanting to claim more joy and creativity, we are here for you, just reach out!
