Life is a dance of constant change. Sometimes we feel fluid and grounded; other times, we feel stuck, overwhelmed, or in our heads.
A life well lived involves meeting these moments with intention, curiosity, and action. We are excited to announce a special community event that brings together two favorite modalities for deep healing and nervous system regulation.
What to Expect: Movement Meets Mindfulness
This session is a unique integration of The Open Floor Meditation Cycle and Self-Brainspotting.
Open Floor: This is a resource-based movement practice. There are no steps to learn and no "right" way to dance. We use music and guided prompts to explore how we move through life. It’s about moving what is stagnant and finding flexibility, resilience, and ease in our bodies.
Self-Brainspotting: Based on the neurobiological principle that "where you look affects how you feel," Brainspotting helps us access the subcortical brain where traditional talk therapy often can't reach. I will guide you in using your visual field to locate brainspots that support self-regulation, helping you metabolize stress and find a sense of calm.
Together, these practices allow us to "move" our stories, our stressors, and our joys—integrating the mind and body into a state of ventral vagal regulation.
Why Join Us?
Whether you are a seasoned Open Floor dancer, curious about Brainspotting, or simply someone who feels like they’ve been "carrying too much" lately, this space is for you. This is an invitation to:
Release physical and emotional tension.
Learn practical tools to self-regulate your nervous system.
Connect with a supportive local community.
Experience the "rhythm of regulation" in a safe, guided environment.
Pre-Registration/Cost: Free-will donations will be accepted to benefit the yoga non-profit Abundant Yoga Community. Suggested donation $15-30. Pre-Registration is required.
Given this is a free class and limited to 16 attendees, if you sign up and decide to not attend, please cancel with at least a 24-hour notice, to allow another interested participant your spot. Open to all Healing Roots Wellness Center clients and local community members (ages 18+).
Bring: Comfortable, layered clothing & water bottle. We typically dance barefoot or with non-marking, non-street shoes. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early to sign in and settle in. We will start promptly.
