While most Brainspotting therapy interventions require the presence of an attuned Brainspotting therapist, there are ways for you to harness the self-healing properties of Brainspotting solo!

Self-Brainspotting is one of my favorite ways to self-regulate or shift my physical, emotional, or cognitive state. For example, I’ll self-spot if I have a headache, feel emotions like irritation, stress, or worry, or my mind is stuck on a certain disruptive thought. While practicing self-spotting, I’ll notice somatic releasing like yawning, rapid eye blinking, or unwinding as my nervous system processes and regulates. In only 10-15 minutes, there will often be a noticeable adaptive shift so that I can move through my day with more ease.

The River Falls Public Library is hosting a 2023 Winter Wellness Program free to community members! I will be presenting Self-Brainspotting: A Simple Mindfulness Practice to Self-Regulate on Thursday, March 2nd, 2023 from 6-7:30pm. Spots are limited. Please register to join us!
