If you’re in your 30s or 40s and wondering why life feels heavier than it should, or if you’re staring down 50 with a sense of dread, The Happiness Curve is an essential read. It flips our fear of aging on its head and offers a reassuring truth: your best years may very well be ahead of you.
Rumination vs. Worry: Understanding the Difference and How to Settle Your Mind
Have you ever found yourself trapped in a loop of anxious thoughts late at night, wondering why your mind just won’t give you a break? While it’s easy to group all our anxious moments under the broad umbrella of “stress,” our brains actually process different types of distress in distinct ways.
Brainspotting - Process Your Trauma Without Talking About It
What is Brainspotting? Brainspotting is a somatic (body-based) psychotherapy that uses our visual field to locate "spots" where we hold trauma, emotional distress, or physical activation. Because our eyes are deeply connected to the midbrain, this process allows us to bypass the analytical, talking brain and access the deeper areas where traumatic memories are actually stored.
During a session, focusing on a specific brainspot can be an intense experience as the brain and body process the memory. However, clients generally experience a profound sense of relief and release afterward—essentially "clearing" the trauma from the nervous system. And progress can be made after even a single session.
Closing the Chapter: Why I’m Stepping Away from My EMDR Certification
As we move into July, I have opted to no longer maintain my EMDRIA Certification. To keep up my Certified EMDR Credential through the EMDR International Association…
Comparing EMDR vs. BRAINSPOTTING Therapy
Both EMDR and Brainspotting (BSP) are comprehensive brain-body based psychotherapy interventions that treat a variety of symptoms such as trauma, grief, anxiety, and depression. I am honored to be able to offer both of these psychotherapy treatments to my clients. I often have clients ask about which one would be better for them and we talk about their symptoms, their therapy goals, and the differences between BSP and EMDR.

ANNOUNCING: Goodwill Donation Based MOVEMEANT: Open Floor Moving Meditation Cycle + Self-Brainspotting!
At Coriander Living Collective, we often talk about resourcing your body and engaging the rhythm of regulation. Whether we are in a Brainspotting session or dancing Open Floor, we are working directly with the intricate, brilliant wiring of your nervous system.
While most people think of the nervous system as just the brain, it is actually a vast, multi-layered network. Understanding the eight key subsystems of this network can help you make sense of why you feel stuck, on edge, or disconnected—and more importantly, how you can find your way back to a life well lived.
Here is a breakdown of the eight subsystems that keep you moving, sensing, and surviving.
Inherited Wisdom, Embodied Healing: Brainspotting for Pre-Natal and Ancestral Trauma
When we think about our personal history, we often start the timeline at our first clear memory—perhaps a birthday party at age five or the first day of school. But at Coriander Living Collective, we look at the "whole-person system," and that system has a history that stretches back much further than your conscious mind can remember.
In fact, your story began long before you took your first breath. It began in the womb, and in the lives of the ancestors who came before you.
