Sleep: WELL. Workshop at River Falls High School!

Sleep disturbance is a common complaint from clients. Not being able to fall asleep, not being able to stay asleep, nightmares, waking up feeling unrested, and the list goes on… About ⅓ of Americans are sleep deprived. Sleep is a complex, necessary function and a lack of quality sleep comes with health consequences:

  • Trouble sleeping is the most common trigger for major psychiatric episodes.

  • Stress, excessive cortisol, and overactive sympathetic nervous systems disrupt sleep.

  • Worry and anxiety are major causes of insomnia.

  • Trauma can cause nightmares.

Come join me as I once again offer “Sleep: WELL.” On Wednesday, November 12, 2025 from 6-7:30pm. Last March, I offered this training at the River Falls Public Library to an audience of 35 people and received positive feedback.

Come learn about sleep, current sleep science, and leave with strategies and tools to hopefully improve your sleep! We’ll discuss sleep cycles, circadian rhythm, the processes that happen during sleep, sleep duration recommendations, conventional sleep hygiene, sleep don’ts, and interventions to support restorative sleep.
