Cori Hildebrandt, MA in Adlerian Psychotherapy & Counseling, LPC WI, LPCC MN, Certified Brainspotting Therapist, Brainspotting Consultant-in-Training through lecture and live demonstration will explore the intersection of Adlerian Theory Early Recollections and Dr. David Grand’s Brainspotting Model to create rapid and profound change for clients.
This presentation is an inquiry into applying Dr. David Grand’s Neuroexperiential Model of Brainspotting to Early Recollections as a way to foster profound healing and movement for clients.
In therapy, we aim to support clients in integrating experience, cultivating life satisfaction, and fostering movement in socially-interested and adaptive ways. The practical psychology of Alfred Adler is known for its Early Recollections technique. Early Recollections offer insight into personality and current life struggles. Working with Early Recollections in therapy, promotes change for clients and encourages movement in socially-interested ways. This is a creative and constructivist process that brings learning and patterns into awareness. It relies heavily on explicit processing. It does not access deeper neurobiological and somatic processing that is out of reach from language and the cognitive mind. We as whole person systems are complex, dynamic and we require integrative approaches for change and profound healing.
