VII. Tracey Mortensen from Inspiring Actions Yoga DEFINING: A Life Well Lived

How do you envision a life well lived? For me, a life well lived is one infused with a profound sense of meaning and purpose. It involves regularly checking in with your values and goals, ensuring that your daily actions align harmoniously with them. Personally, I hold meaningful relationships in high regard, making a conscious effort to connect with those I care about regularly. I also prioritize creative pursuits, helping others, and contributing to a greater cause. Fortunately, I've crafted a lifestyle that allows me to embody and uphold these values in my day-to-day experiences.

Consider this: Americans spend about one-third of their lives at work. Why not channel that time into something you genuinely love? I believe you're truly "winning" when work doesn't feel like work. This becomes possible when you align your professional life with your personal values, interests, and sources of motivation, creating a work experience that is not just fulfilling but also enjoyable.

At the core of my daily priorities is the unwavering focus on overall health. If I'm not well, nothing else quite matches up in terms of enjoyment. I make a deliberate effort to nurture my body, maintain a balanced diet, prioritize adequate sleep, and practice stress management techniques. When I'm feeling my best, I am at my happiest, fulfilled, and better positioned to positively impact others.

Resilience stands out as a crucial skill in navigating life's ups and downs. Facing challenges and setbacks with resilience, the ability to bounce back, contributes significantly to a sense of accomplishment and personal growth.

My go-to guide for staying on course is the book "The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom" by Don Miguel Ruiz. The Agreements—Be Impeccable With Your Word, Don't Take Anything Personally, Don't Make Assumptions, and Always Do Your Best—serve as a compass in my daily life.

Shifting gears to my business, I am the Owner/Founder of Inspiring Actions Yoga in Hudson and River Falls, established in 2008 after a profound healing experience through yoga. My mission is to create a space where individuals can enhance their health and wellness. In building this platform, I've been gifted with ongoing opportunities to learn, grow, and deepen my personal practice. Yoga not only contributes to my physical well-being but also imparts invaluable life coping skills.

So, how does Inspiring Actions Yoga support the well-being and mental health of others, fostering a life well lived? We offer a diverse range of high-quality yoga and meditation classes on a weekly basis, complemented by frequent specialty workshops. Beyond the physical practice, these gatherings foster community, friendships, and a profound sense of belonging. My passion extends to introducing newcomers to yoga through the Yoga 101 introductory series, aiming to share the multitude of benefits yoga has to offer. After all, I believe everyone should experience the transformative joy of yoga.

In conclusion, a life well lived is not just a personal pursuit but a shared journey. Inspiring Actions Yoga strives to be more than a business, fostering a community where individuals can build a life well lived through holistic well-being and a sense of togetherness.
