In 2023, I suffered vertigo that led to nervous system dysregulation. I pursued multiple treatment avenues to return back to a sense of steady. One of which was Occupational Therapy at Points of Stillness in Hudson, WI to regulate and retrain my nervous system. I have so much appreciation for my three therapists at Points of Stillness! They use all kinds of gadgets and tools in sessions. One of which is the Sensate, it uses vibrations and sound to tone your cranial vagus nerve. Your vagus nerve is a superhighway nerve in your body that connects to the majority of your organs and is involved in your stress response. Either activating your fight or flight response or calming your nervous system so you can rest and digest.

I have multiple friends and clients with Sensates that all love them! Sensate has research and science behind it. It can calm anxiety, lower stress, and improve sleep in just a 10 minute home session.

If you are needing additional tools and ways to regulate your nervous system. It might be worth trying a Sensate!

“Sensate is designed to work naturally with the body's nervous system. Sensate was created to improve your own ability to handle stress.

Soft vibrations: Sensate is placed on your chest, and it emits soft vibrations that act like a massage to your nervous system.

Internal purr: The vibrations travel through your body, relaxing your nervous system. It's why cats purr.

Soothing audio: The device works with an app, that plays carefully composed soundscapes, providing an immersive experience.”*

Research into if this might be a good supportive tool for you. I plan to share other devices and gadgets in the future that may be beneficial. We often need all the support we can get! To life well lived.
